Ken Jeong Riffs On What His Duke Graduation Speech Would Have Been Like

Next time, Doc.

The Late Late Show with James Corden
LOS ANGELES - MAY 19: James chats with Ken Jeong from his garage on THE LATE LATE SHOW WITH JAMES CORDEN, scheduled to air Tuesday May 19, 2020 (12:37-1:37 AM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

As you may have heard, Duke grad Ken Jeong was slated to speak at Duke commencement. That was snubbed due to the Corona Pandemic but TV came to the rescue: James Corden on the Late Late Show let Jeong give part of his intended speech. He probably didn’t plan on the Golden doodle but like so much video lately, this was basement to basement or maybe study to study.

No studio audience, in other words.

It’s not his full speech but a pretty good synopsis. His basic message is not to deny your potential (with a side of Goldendoodle).

His comic persona is pretty aggressive so it’s interesting to see a more humble side. He basically says that hard work is more important than anything else and he therefore has always worked hard.

Also, Coach K was asked to say a few words for Heart Radio which asked several prominent people to give some commencement thoughts. He had classic Krzyzewskian thoughts on West Point, family, and his tenure with Team USA as jumping off points to his themes.
