Any list like this is obviously subjective, but at a minimum, you’re pretty much guaranteed to see some impressive stuff. So here’s a list from ESPN’s Rachel Nichols, Scottie Pippen and Tracy McGrady of their Top 15 dunks.

It has the usual suspects - Michael Jordan, Dominique Wilkins, Julius Erving, Scottie Pippen, Vince Carter - and a few names you may not immediately remember.

To us, the best of these is the old school dunk from Dr. J, who rocked the house when he rocked the cradle against the Lakers.

Friday bonus: the first dunk in history probably took place in a quiet gym somewhere. We’ll never know.

The one that may be considered the first dunk took place in the 1936 Olympics, an auspicious stage for such a debut. One of the first great big men, Oklahoma’s Bob Kurland, gets the credit. Look where the dunk has gone since.
