You Tube Gold: Steve Nash On Michael Jordan

This is a pretty great story

Chicago Bulls v Phoenix Suns
PHOENIX, AZ - NOVEMBER 20: Michael Jordan #23 of the Chicago Bulls is seen talking to Steve Nash #13 of Phoenix Suns during the game between the Chicago Bulls and the Phoenix Suns on November 20, 1996 at the America West Arena in Phoenix, Arizona.

This is pretty great: during his rookie year, in 1996-97, Steve Nash got caught in isolation against Michael Jordan with predictable results.

During a foul shot, Jordan walked up to him and said, laughing, that Nash had been at a disadvantage.

Nash laughed too, agreeing, and then asked: “can I have your shoes?”

And later, Jordan gave them to him.

It’s an interesting story, particularly with all the hard-edged stories that we’ve heard recently from the documentary film “The Last Dance,” and all the stories that various people have been asked about since everyone wants to keep the party going.

It’s nice to see a lighter side of Jordan. His competitive desire defines him but of course it’s not the end all and be all of the man.

It’s particularly cool since Nash said he idolized Jordan and also that he made his veteran teammates jealous. You can’t beat that.
