Alex O’Connell has decided on his next school and it’s Creighton. Unless he’s further along than most of us think, he’ll sit out next season.
He’ll be a good fit there. Creighton has a perimeter oriented offense and he’ll almost surely get more minutes. He still needs to iron out some bumps in his game - his defense and occasional mental lapses limited his time at Duke - but he has talent and potential.
Greg McDermott’s son Dou really showed how a guy could max out at Creighton and should be a good role model for O’Connell. We’re not saying he’s going to do that well, but it’s something to aspire to.
We hope he has a tremendous final year with the Blue Jays.
