Anthony Bilas Calls Out Wake Fans

The younger Bilastrator had a few things to get off his chest about Wake fans and Demon Deacons basketball

There are rumors that Wake Forest may have a very quick search and possibly introduce a new coach by the end of the week.

Still rumors, but the optimism is striking.

Whatever happens, Anthony Bilas, son of Jay the former Duke star and ESPN cult figure, posted something on Twitter that was pretty amazing and should be read by all Wake Forest fans and really, all college basketball fans.

Football too.

Essentially he speaks here of playing for Danny Manning, a coach he said he loved, and of how it felt to have the fans turn on him (we were a little confused because he says “a portion” of his career but we didn't think he played for Bzdelik but rather his entire career for Manning. Is that incorrect?).

He urges Wake Forest fans to support whoever is hired and you know what? He’s exactly right.

Watching the Wake Meltdown over Bzdelik was awful, even for non Wake fans. He wasn’t successful and he wasn’t particularly likable but he was the coach and the guys on the team were caught in the middle. It wasn’t as bad with Manning but the indifference was not all that much better. It should never happen again.
