Duke Recruiting: Banchero Cuts His List

It’s a pretty good group of finalists too

Duke target Paolo Banchero has cut his list to six: Duke, UNC, Kentucky, Washington, Gonzaga and Tennessee (note: the first report we saw listed UNC but it’s become that Arizona is the sixth team, not the Tar Heels).

He tells Zagsblog.com that “I’m kind a stretch, do-it-all ‘4’, and I can play the ‘3’ too. I can kind of do whatever, play on the wing or play inside, but if it was up to me I would prefer kind of in the midrange, 16-17 feet out, and just kind of operate from there.”

That would fit well at Duke, which had a lot to do with creating the Stretch-4 concept in the first place. Coach K also allows his players to grow into their skills which would be great for a versatile player like Banchero.

He might also be a good fit with AJ Griffin, Duke’s first commitment in the class as both are versatile forwards.

He has a Duke visit scheduled for October 17-20 assuming he can travel by then.
