Semi Ojeleye’s Hard Work Has Paid Off

But even so, he still can’t touch Zion Williamson

NBA: Boston Celtics at New Orleans Pelicans
Jan 26, 2020; New Orleans, Louisiana, USA; New Orleans Pelicans forward Zion Williamson (1) grabs a rebound over Boston Celtics forward Semi Ojeleye (37) during the second half at the Smoothie King Center.

We hated when Semi Ojeleye left Duke. He clearly had potential, which he began to realize at SMU, and now he’s carved out a niche with the Boston Celtics.

He could have done it at Duke too but things just didn’t work out for him.

Now that he’s in the league, a lot of people think he’s the most jacked guy in the NBA. You can look here and get an idea of what he’s done in the weight room. The guy has really put on muscle. He’s huge (Incidentally, the first link is by Lindsay Berra, Yogi’s granddaughter).

The funny thing though is that in spite of all of that power, he can’t come close to Zion Williamson.

Ojeleye is the same height as Williamson at 6-6. However, Williamson weighs in at an insane 284 pounds, 44 more than Ojeleye.

And while we saw during his rehab that Williamson can gain weight when he’s not careful, it’s not like he’s the Pillsbury doughboy. What happens if he decides to get cut too?
