Justise Winslow has had some troubles with injuries in his NBA career but he has established himself as a well-respected NBA player. He’s become versatile enough to play point guard and has shown some real explosiveness too.
Take this play from 2018 against Marquese Chriss and the Phoenix Suns when Winslow was still with the Miami Heat. He brings the ball up, takes it down the left side and then explodes to the basket as Chriss and Alec Peters, also 6-9, come in to defend.
Too late!
Justise takes it in and dunks it over the very athletic Chriss.
Now that he’s with Memphis and the Grizzlies have the likely Rookie of the Year Ja Morant at point guard, who’s backed up by Winslow’s former Duke teammate Tyus Jones, he won't be spending much more time at the point unless Memphis has some serious issues. He can probably grow into more of a role like he had at Duke, where his versatility is an enormous asset.
Which with luck will give us more highlights like this.
