This article on ACC transfers is slightly out of date - there’s been at least one more since which affects two teams - but is still a fairly useful starting point at the least.

Obviously Duke has Alex O’Connell out and Patrick Tapé in, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

Boston College, Duke, Georgia Tech, Louisville, UNC, NC State, Notre Dame, Pitt, Syracuse, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest lose players.

On the flip side, Boston College, Duke, Georgia Tech, Louisville, UNC, Notre Dame, Syracuse, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest add players.

The one who’s not mentioned in this article is Isaiah Wilkins, who ended up back home at Wake Forest. The Winston-Salem native said Hokie coach Mike Young suggested he transfer.

The one you worry about a little on a human level is Chris Doherty. The name jumped out at us and we wondered if he was related to Matt Doherty, who of course coached the Irish for one season before his massive flameout at UNC.

Turns out he’s not but this article suggests his family life has been less than ideal.

It sounds like he loved Notre Dame but it’s possible that whatever his family issues are called him back home. Whatever happened it’s too bad. Mike Brey is a player’s coach and someone who really looks out for his guys. Doherty left once already over the summer to go home and now he’s back, having transferred to Northeastern.

We know next to nothing about his situation, but four (or even five years as he had suggested) with Brey might have given him the stability he could have used. We hope everything works out for him him at Northeastern and that even if his upbringing was “difficult,” that he can come to terms with it.

Stop the presses! One more late addition - Iowa grad transfer Cordell Pemsel to Virginia Tech. Also, Landers Nolley may be headed to Memphis.
