Since the season’s abrupt end, Vernon Carey has been collecting a ridiculous amount of hardware and trophies. Latest addition to the treasure trove: the NABC Freshman Of The Year Award.
This one should count for a lot since it comes from the National Association Of Basketball Coaches. To us, who could possibly know the game better? Thi is one he should treasure.
Amazingly, it’s the third year in a row a Blue Devil has won this: Zion Williamson won it in 2019 and Marvin Bagley won in 2018 (Bagley and Zion and Vernon, oh my!)
It’s an amazing run for Duke and we’ll see about next year, assuming we have a season of course.
- Carey Named NABC Freshman of the Year
- Vernon Carey Jr. of Duke named NABC Freshman of the Year
- Ten freshmen who exceeded their expectations
- Five big men the Celtics could pursue in the 2020 NBA draft
