Normally when a player leaves for the NBA, there’s a press conference, a chance for mostly local guys to ask questions and a chance for the player to say the mostly rote things they tend to say: loved the school, hate to leave, time to go to the next level...yada, yada, yada.

It wasn’t really like that for Tre Jones.

After a superb sophomore campaign which was cut short by the Covid-19 pandemic, Jones held his presser via Zoom (as a side note, while lots of businesses are in real trouble, some are in a position to really do well. Zoom is one, Amazon is another).

He’s at brother Tyus’s house which means he probably gets an edge over most other draftees. He’ll get legitimate NBA-level workouts and will compete against an NBA point guard for the duration. We’d guess that Tyus probably has a court or gym at his residence too, possibly both.
