We’ve been watching Zion Williamson as he moves into NBA play and we thought in his first couple of games that he looked a bit rusty.
He’s getting a lot less rusty. Or really what he is doing is getting into game shape. Although he played against the Bulls (fellow former Blue Devil Wendell Carter is out with an ankle injury) with a sprained toe, Williamson is getting a lot closer to he was at Duke. Offensively he’s been brilliant. Defense has been a bit slower.
Look at the block here though and you’ll see the quick reaction time we saw last year.
Offensively as we said it’s full steam ahead. Look at the behind the back dribble, the long alley-oop pass from Lonzo Ball, the muscling inside.
Williamson only played 25 minutes but he shot 9-11 for 21 points. Not a bad night’s work.
Since his debut, New Orleans is playing .500 ball and is 4-2 in the last six games.
Next up - Indiana on Saturday.
