For those of you who may have missed it, top recruit Patrick Baldwin was in Cameron for the Duke-Virginia Tech game and went over to sit with the Cameron Crazies. That doesn’t mean he’s going to announce tomorrow or anything but it’s hard not to see it as a good sign.
We didn’t hear it but typically when recruits do this the Crazies have done exactly what they did with Jeff Capel when Coach K got so worked up: they chant for someone to “come sit with us.”
Obviously it worked and he seems to have enjoyed that part of his visit. The general sentiment seems to be that Duke is leading but don’t get too caught up in that just yet. For one thing, he has powerful ties to Northwestern. And he’s not in it for us. It’s his life. If he chooses another school we hope everyone will just congratulate him and move on. He seems like a really great kid.
