In the 1960s Bill Russell’s Celtics had a huge rivalry with the Los Angeles Lakers which only picked up when his primary rival Wilt Chamberlain was traded to the Lakers.
In the 1980s, Larry Bird and Magic Johnson took that rivalry to another level entirely.
Since then it’s been kind of quiet. That may have changed Sunday though.
Former Duke star Jayson Tatum just exploded on the Lakers, tying his career high with 41. On Instagram, LeBron James posted a picture of himself at the scorer’s table getting ready to check in next to Tatum. The caption?
“That boi to the left of me is an ABSOLUTE PROBLEM!!”
And so he was. This game was good enough that everyone is going to be excited for the rematch. And if the NBA is lucky enough to see both teams in the Finals, the ratings are going to go through the roof.
Check out what Tatum did Sunday night.
