Here’s a solid update on Duke recruiting from the Duke Chronicle, starting with Ziaire Williams who has dropped the Blue Devils.
Next an update on 2020 Commit Jalen Johnson, who has regained eligibility after some questions about transfers. He left for IMG Academy for his senior season and then returned to his high school, Glendale Nicolet in Milwaukee.
Then on to 2021: AJ Griffin has committed, Duke is still involved with Jonathan Kuminga, Patrick Baldwin, Paolo Banchero, Max Christie and Kennedy Chandler.
Looming NBA changes to the one-and-done rule could change things but that’s something to worry about later.
Kuminga could still conceivably reclassify to 2020 but has said he doesn’t plan to.
Finally, ESPN reports that Duke has offered the most alluring phenom currently on the scene, Emoni Bates.
It’s always tricky to project a can’t-miss project but by all reports, Bates is about as can't-miss as they come. Take a look.
