More good news for Duke as Cassius Stanley, who had to sit out the Notre Dame game after a freak accident with a student manager resulted in an eye injury, will be back for the State game in Raleigh.

We were a bit concerned about playing Notre Dame without him but everyone stepped up and Duke went on a magical run in the second half the had to be seen too be believed.

That doesn’t diminish his value though, least of all against a guard-oriented team like NC State. He’ll be an essential player.

Coach K had this to say:

”During shooting, you know there are a lot of balls bouncing around and managers are rebounding. One of our managers went for a ball and poked him in the eye,” Krzyzewski said. “He had a puffy eye and [it was] swollen. His eyeball was scratched and he could not play. He felt better afterwards, saw our top eye person here, Terry Kim, yesterday and he’ll be ready to go for practice today...unless something happens in the next couple days for any of the players, we should be all ready to play.”
