Cam Reddish was overshadowed by Zion Williamson and RJ Barrett at Duke, to the extent that when Atlanta took him at #10 in the 2019 NBA Draft, a lot of people were skeptical.
He’s turning into a pretty good NBA player.
It’s not just that he can do so many things or that he’s got a beautiful shot that will complement Trae Young’s perfectly.
It’s that he’s like the prototype for positionless basketball. Reddish is still thin, but he’s 6-8 and can play all over the court, including point guard if he’s needed there.
He’s also becoming an outstanding defender. In general, he’s becoming a valuable member of Atlanta’s rotation and is now in the starting lineup.
Here are some highlights from Atlanta’s opener against Chicago. Reddish appears much more comfortable (and healthy) in this outing.
Notable in this video: check out him picking off a pass by fellow former Blue Devil Wendell Carter.
