Duke Jerseys To Carry An Extra Word This Season

It’s hard to imagine a more appropriate one

Looks like Duke will follow the NBA’s lead on jerseys and add a phrase to this year’s version.

It won't replace the name though. The player’s name will still be above the number. The word equality will be below. It’s hard to argue with the word equality and there are few better examples of it than a basketball team. It’s impossible for a team to win without everyone working together towards a common goal.

The jersey shown here belongs to DJ Steward.

A native of Chicago like Coach K, Sean Dockery and Jabari Parker, Steward comes to Duke with a lot of charisma and some solid scoring chops. Check out this video of him going off for 40.

The other guys you’ll see in this video is UNC-bound Caleb Young. They’ll probably see quite a bit of each other before this abbreviated season draws to an end, hopefully with a tournament.
