Quinn Cook’s Long Trip Back To The Bubble Hotel

This would have been much funnier if they had left King James at the arena

NBA: Playoffs-Portland Trailblazers at Los Angeles Lakers
Aug 29, 2020; Lake Buena Vista, Florida, USA; Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James (23) celebrates with guard Quinn Cook (28) before playing the Portland Trail Blazers in game five of the first round of the 2020 NBA Playoffs at AdventHealth Arena.

Just a funny side note to last night’s NBA Finals which saw the Los Angeles Lakers run away from an exhausted Miami Heat (Jimmy Butler was so tired after Game 5 that he could barely dismount the podium...the loss was inevitable).

After the win, Duke grad Quinn Cook was doing an inspirational little video as he departed the arena. He rightly talked about how he had stayed confident despite people telling him he wasn’t good enough to make it, how he never gave up and was now a two-time champion.

All of which is true and moving and worthy of great respect.

However, when he got to the buses, he found they had already left. So what did he do, child of the Internet era?

Posted on teammate JR Smith’s Instagram Live. This led to great merriment on the bus. No word on whether they went back to fetch Cook.
