Looks like Zion Williamson is getting pretty close to his return: the sensational rookie has been out recuperating from his knee injury but now he’s participating in practice and as soon as he’s up to speed we imagine he’ll be back on the court.
Lonzo Ball is excited about that: “It’s going to be amazing when he gets back, especially for my game,” Ball told the Times-Picayune. “It’s going to open up a lot of things for shooters for sure because people are going to suck in, and he’s going to make the right play.”
Of course he’ll have minutes restrictions until he’s deemed fully ready to run but who cares? We miss watching him play, watching the joie de vivre he brings to the court and really to every thing he does.
We’ve said many times that people don’t understand that impact he has on a group’s dynamics but it’s powerful. Our theory is that at least partly it’s because he really doesn't like a lot of attention and deflects it and in basketball, sharing is caring no matter what your motive is.
He creates a little bubble of magic. We can’t wait for more.
By the way, we haven’t heard it yet, but Williamson is a guest on JJ Redick’s latest Podcast. You can find it in the usual places.
