Duke Loses A Tough One At Louisville

As a winnable game slips away at the end.

Duke nearly pulled off a major road upset when the Blue Devils led #7 Louisville for most of the game before losing 60-55.

Haley Gorecki had 20 points, five rebounds, five assists, one block and one steal which is a solid game no matter how you look at it. Azana Baines kicked in 15 points.

Duke has now lost four straight games and dropped to 7-7 and 1-2 in the ACC. Obviously this team is still fighting but wins have been rare lately.

When this season is over, it may not be what most people hoped for, but we’re going to have to find a way to place Gorecki in perspective because she’s having a tremendous year.

The obvious point here is that Duke is lucky that Gorecki, a graduate student, decided to play one more year. It’s hard to imagine where this team would be without her remarkable and consistent contributions.
