The Jonathan Kuminga sweepstakes continues and the hype seems to be growing daily.

Not about him per se. Everyone thinks his talent is legitimate.

What’s exploding is the hype.

A lot of people seem to think Duke is the leader and maybe so but it’s too early and there may be more variables than is typical. We’ll see.

As we often do, we like to look at other camps to see what the sentiment is. So over at ASeaOfBlue.com, obviously they’re looking at it from a UK point of view. John Calipari had a visit this week but they confess they’re not sure what to think:

“Duke was viewed as the favorite early on in his recruitment, while Texas Tech also picked up steam after landing his brother, Joel Ntambwe, as a transfer from UNLV. LSU also picked up significant buzz but didn’t make his top 10. It’s been hard to gauge how much of a chance Kentucky has in this recruitment.

“However, Calipari and his staff have seen Kuminga multiple times during the fall and winter, so they cleary [sic] think they have a chance at the top-ranked recruit, especially if Calipari is spending on [sic] holiday to see the St. Patrick (NJ) product. Calipari previously visited him in late October.”
