It looks like Zion Williamson will make his NBA debut on January 22nd against the San Antonio Spurs. That’s a home game so New Orleans fans get the first game, which seems right.
As you probably know, Williamson had a knee problem this summer, a torn lateral meniscus, which required surgery and time to heal and rehab.
And the Pelicans, proving again they're a smart franchise, have taken a holistic look at this, and studied how Williamson moves and how that might cause stress on his joints.
At 6-6 and 275, Williamson is a unique athlete for whom there is no basketball precedent. It seems wise that the Pels wanted to look closely at his body and possible stresses. Soon, the NBA will see what we saw at Duke. We can’t wait.
