NBA: Summer League-Chicago Bulls at Cleveland Cavaliers
Jul 7, 2019; Las Vegas, NV, USA; Cleveland Cavaliers center Marques Bolden (38) passes the ball against Chicago Bulls forward Daniel Gafford (12) during the second half of an NBA Summer League game at Thomas & Mack Center.

Cleveland has signed Marques Bolden, along with three other free agents including former Xavier star JP Macura. He may not make it in the NBA but we loved him in college.

The other two are Sindarius Thornwell and Daniel Hamilton. The Cavs waived Malik Newman and Levi Randolph.

We haven’t seen the terms of his contract yet but it’s certainly a step forward. As we saw at Duke this past season, a healthy Bolden is an imposing defensive presence in the post.
