Former Duke star Zion Williamson has landed another endorsement deal: he’ll be representing Gatorade.

Gatorade only has four NBA endorsement deals; one of the others is with Jayson Tatum.

Jeff Kearney, Gatorade’s global head of sports marketing, said that “[Williamson] is such a unique talent and his game is so multidimensional that it is hard to define him right now. We see that in our brand.”

Seriously? It’s hard to define Gatorade? It’s never been very difficult for us.

By the way Williamson has some interesting comments about hydration and a lesson he learned in the Gonzaga game last season: “I took one step off the bus, and my body went into severe cramping all over. It was bad. I was so dehydrated. A couple of the team managers had to carry me into the training room.”

First, good on the trainers because at 285, Williamson is no lightweight. And second, it’s typical of him to turn a problem into a positive.
