At Pitt, former Duke guard and assistant coach Jeff Capel continues to build. His latest recruit is for the class of 2020, 6-7 forward Noah Collier.

A borderline 4-star recruit, Capel has probably seen him play a lot: he’s from Westtown School, Cam Reddish’s alma mater.

If you haven’t noticed, Capel is building a mobile, athletic core of mid-sized players that he can plug a point guard and possibly a center into. That group has the potential to be very, very good down the line. And of course talent brings more talent so keep an eye on Pitt.

Jeff Capel is getting it done.

And, by the way, he’s getting it done despite what Mike DeCourcy said about Pitt losing its recruiting base in New York when it left the Big East. Collier is essentially a local recruit but Capel is working the south pretty hard and it’s paying off.
