Remember when former Duke guard and assistant coach Tommy Amaker took the Harvard job? Even Coach K, as we recall, suggested he wait for something else because when it comes to basketball, Harvard was, well...Harvard.

Amaker though thought he could do interesting things there and time has proven him right. Harvard has become a consistent NCAA team - unimaginable not long before he came to town.

His recruiting has also improved (we understand Harvard has also made admissions easier which obviously helps) and now he’s gotten one of his biggest recruits - literally and figuratively - as 6-9/230 lb. Justice Ajogbor, a top 75 recruit, has committed to Harvard.

Getting a really good guard to come to Harvard would be great but a solid big man? Who plans to stay for four years? A guy who could easily have gone to most ACC schools?

That you can build around.

As good as Amaker has made Harvard basketball, odds are it’s about to get a good bit better still.
