It’s not just Zion. It’s the overall brilliant reaction to how the Pelicans responded to Anthony Davis’s trade demands and used that to remake the team, immediately and down the road.

This may have been the greatest example ever of using lemons to make lemonade, not least of all because he may have crippled the Lakers, who obtained Davis, for years to come.

And keep in mind that they only hired him in April.
