Josh Pastner, Ron Bell End Legal War

There’s no reason for Pastner to push things any further. He’s won this battle.

Georgia Tech coach Josh Pastner has issues and a lot of things to deal with, but suing former friend Ron Bell is no longer on the list: both sides have agreed to drop lawsuits against each other with each paying their own attorneys.

Pastner will get nothing but it doesn’t matter.

Bell and his girlfriend, Jennifer Pendley, accused Pastner of sexually assaulting Pendley, but that argument fell apart and it’s clear at this point that there is absolutely no evidence of assault. Indeed, Bell appears to have made the whole thing up, persuaded Pendley to go along with it, and presumably hoped to punish Pastner or extort cash from him.

For Pastner’s part, it makes no sense to pursue the case since Bell and Pendley have lost most of their assets. He can’t punish their reckless behavior in court and his innocence in the matter is already established.

There’s just nothing to gain from proceeding and he has other things to worry about now, including an NCAA investigation.
