Louisville is redoing its home court and will bring the dunking Cardinal back as a midcourt design.

This opens up some fun possibilities, like the Louisville radio crew yelling out “that buzzer beater came from the bird’s butt!”

The clip linked in this story (second clip) shows the new/revived logo flashing and it got us to thinking: what if they could flash different things? It would be tricky to do it with wood without projecting it, but wouldn’t it be cool to see, say, some witty tweets on the scoreboard at Cameron at timeouts? They would have to be curated of course, but if you do that, that guy is going to tell everyone he knows and he’ll be watching constantly to see if he can do it again and so will a lot of people that he knows. You could use other social media too.

It’s another way of incorporating digitalia into the sport and keeping attention focused on the game.
