Will Avery Returns

For those of you who remember, when William Avery left Duke, Coach K advised him against it. His argument was that if you wanted to leave early you shouldn't unless you are a lottery pick because otherwise you have little security.

Avery went #17 to the T-Wolves and was out of the league in a few years. He played overseas for a while and then called it a career.

Now he’s back in Durham working on his degree. That’s good news and we wish him the best of luck.

One of the tweets back to him here is from former teammate Chris Burgess who also left Duke the same year. He has maintained ties with Duke though as you see here. Burgess is a genuinely nice guy as you’ll see from his comments here.
