As we get a little more into the ACC Network, for the Miami-Florida game, the ACC Network debuted something called “the All-ACC Watch Party.”

We just caught the end so we’re not completely up to speed here. However it had Mark Packer, Wes Durham, Mark Richt and, apparently, a former Miami player we don’t recognize.

It was a close game - we just caught the end - and the Miami guys were deeply, deeply invested.

The basic idea is kind of meta - we watch these guys watching football. It sounds really stupid but it was actually kind of compelling. They have multiple big screens, a table full of snacks and lots of room to pace around in. They zoom in when there’s action and zoom out when there’s not.

It seems like a stupid premise, as we said, but periodically people forgot they were on TV, at least a little bit, and were themselves.

It’s a fun, potentially great format. We have to repeat our earlier suggestion about the whole enterprise though: it needs personality.

We know he’s got a job now and that he’s here he wants to be but we know who would be a brilliant hire. He’s not a football guy but his personality is so outsized that no one would care. Everyone would want to watch with him because he just fills a room with personality.

We’re talking about the one, the only C-Well.

Chris Carrawell, C-Well the Irrepressible, would be so much damn fun on the ACCN. He compulsively says exactly what’s on his mind, he’s extremely smart and he’s just naturally funny.

Since they can’t get him, at least not at the moment, they should bring in other people with big personalities. Bobby Cremins would be awesome. We feel certain that Kenny Dennard would be interested in dropping by and would be an absolute hoot.

Barring that, the crew should consider spiking the water without telling the hosts.
