You have to feel kind of bad for former Blue Devil Jabari Parker. He was nearly playing at an All-Star level when two knee injuries knocked his career off track. Milwaukee traded him to Chicago who then shipped him to Washington and now the Wizards aren’t showing much interest in re-signing him, at least not for what he was making.

He’s trying to make it clear that Washington is where he’d like to be, even making less, but it’s not at all clear that they’re interested.

Parker is just 24. He can still play but his knees are going to concern people and his long indifference to defense hasn’t helped. It may take him a healthy year or two to gain someone’s confidence but at this point, with his offensive skills, he may be a solid bargain for a team that needs a scorer.
