The ACC Network is coming in August as you probably know, and while negotiations are underway with various carriers, as Commissioner John Swofford pointed out recently, cable negotiations often go to the last minute. You’ve all probably seen ads about stuff like this.

So it’s no great surprise that some of the major carriers haven’t signed up yet. In the Triangle, for instance, as Brooke Cain points out, ACCN is not currently on the following networks: Spectrum, AT&T U-verse, DISH Network or Comcast.

Spectrum used to be Time Warner which dominated the local market.

If things go the way they usually do, the pressure will really build at the end. We’ve already seen noticeable anxiety online from Clemson and Florida State camps and keep in mind that FSU football is still notably down.

As the start of football season draws closer ESPN will try to use that against the providers and the providers will pressure ESPN for concessions. Fans will get really angry and eventually it will all work out.

Probably.

In the meantime, it should be fairly entertaining - and more so if your provider has already signed up.
