When Sacramento decided not to invest further in Willie Caulie-Stein as an anchor for their frontcourt, it meant good things for former Blue Devils Marvin Bagley and Harry Giles, both of whom should see their roles increase.
For Bagley, it means he’s likely to be much more of a focus than he was as a rookie. A new coaching staff will help too and he seems to like Luke Walton.
DeWayne Dedmon will take over at center and free Bagley up to develop into an All-Star caliber player.
For Giles, as he continues to move past his knee issues, it means more opportunity. He showed some real flashes last year and if he can build on that, Sacto is stacked in the frontcourt for the near future.
