We’re honestly not sure what to make of this story but you might want to file it away for future reference.

As you may know, whether it’s true or not, Western Kentucky’s Rick Stansbury has a reputation as a cheater. Sportswriter Jeff Goodman has taunted him for years on Twitter as Rick $tansbury and if you google Rick Stansbury+cheating you’ll get enough to keep you busy for a bit.

It wasn’t exactly cheating but WKU has a guy on the roster named Charles Bassey. Bassey is from Nigeria. Bassey’s guardian, Hennssy Auriantal, is now an assistant for Stansbury making $200,000 a year.

He also had an assistant named Mark Hsu who has built a reputation as an aggressive recruiter. But Hsu somewhat suddenly left Western Kentucky for...DePaul, where he’ll work for former Virginia coach Dave Leitao.

And he’s bringing a player with him.

Promising young big man Nick Ongenda was a Hsu recruit who was going to reclassify and go to WKU next year.

Now?

He’s going with Hsu to DePaul.

His high school coach, Anthony Owens, has a long-standing relationship with Hsu.

As we said, we don’t know what to make of it but make a mental bookmark in case this comes up again.
