Jonathan Kuminga tweeted out today that Duke has offered.

A 6-7 player, Kuminga can play guard - Memphis is recruiting him for the backcourt - and competition has heated up after a star turn at Peach Jam last week.

His brother, Joel Ntambwe, transferred from UNLV to Texas Tech recently. His UNLV bio lists him as being a native of Belgium but we’re not sure when the family moved here.

It also says his cousin is Emmanuel Mudiay, who currently plays for Utah, having left the Knicks to find a team where he could learn something.

Kuminga currently plays AAU ball where his coach is former Duke walk-on and Coach K nephew Andy Borman.

There are no guarantees in recruiting but between Borman and Utah’s Quin Snyder there are at least two guys who can give Kuminga a positive review of Duke basketball.

On the other hand, there are rumors that he might reclass or possibly even play overseas rather than going to college. Nothing firm there yet so stay tuned.
