Javin DeLaurier has always been a quiet player at Duke, but never a visually arresting player, other than in a negative way when he gets a quick series of fouls.
By the end of last season though he had emerged as a very solid defender and rebounder and also leader. When other guys struggled, he was consistent and reliable.
Unfortunately like some of his teammates, he needed to get some minor work done in the off-season.
In his case it was his elbow. Duke is calling it “clean-up” surgery and expects a quick recovery.
