In 2001, Duke had a terrible game at College Park and Maryland, with the great, great backcourt of Juan Dixon and Steve Blake, seemed set to knock off the Blue Devils.
Didn’t happen.
Maryland was up 10 with less than a minute to go. Duke made an epic comeback, led by the great Jason Williams, and took the game to overtime. But it didn't matter at that point because Maryland was already beaten.
Later that spring, the Terps took out their frustrations on Duke in the Final Four, building a huge lead, but Duke came back again and won by double digits.
It was a fun year to say the least, but probably not for Maryland.
