As you probably know, when it comes to recruiting, coaches sometimes get creative and that appears to be the case when it comes to Cade Cunningham.

The Monteverde star has been linked to Oklahoma State for a while now and that’s now looking a lot more likely: the Cowboys have hired Cunningham’s brother Cannen as an assistant coach.

While it’s obviously going to help with recruiting Cade it’s not as blatant as hiring, say, a father who was driving a truck.

Cannen worked last season for Tulane as the associate director of video operations. So it’s not like has no background.

Still, it’s a nasty twist for the other schools pursuing his younger brother and will almost certainly give OSU an advantage. Talk about a pre-existing relationship!

On the other hand, one never really knows. Lots of things go into a commitment and we don't really know anything other than these two are brothers. So reserve judgment for now.

Just as a theoretical question...could an assistant coach lend his brother money?
