Former Duke star Grayson Allen has been traded: the Utah Jazz have sent Allen, Jae Crowder and Kyle Korver to the Grizzlies for Mike Conley, Jr.
The Grizzlies will also get a conditional future first round pick.
For Allen, it’s probably a pretty cool deal. First, he’s pretty close to the part of the country where he grew up and also went to college. Second, the Grizzlies need a lot of help. He’ll be in a place where he can develop a much bigger role.
Still undecided in the deal is what will happen to Ricky Rubio. Utah won’t really need him with Conley on board and he’s still a pretty good point guard. Someone will go after him, perhaps Boston with Kyrie Irving reportedly on the way out.
