We always liked Dave McClure. He wasn’t hugely talented but he was super smart and always seemed to be in the right place at the right time.
This was never more true than in 2007 at home against Clemson. The Tigers scored five points in about two and a half seconds to tie the game up and Duke got the ball back with 4.4 seconds left.
Duke got the ball in to Jon Scheyer who hit McClure with an absolutely brilliant pass for an uncontested layup as time ran out. Still one of the best buzzer beaters in Duke history.
