It’s June and that means that you probably need a hoops fix. Might we, as your hoop servers, suggest a fine recent vintage? An impudent mix of failure, defiance with traces of an energetic late comeback?
We are talking of course about this past season’s brilliant comeback by Duke at Louisville.
It’s worth noting that Louisville was just killing Duke before the comeback started. But when it did the bottom fell out for Louisville.
If you want to see the brilliance, go to about the 7:00 mark. If you want to see a funny moment, stop it when the game clock says 2:54 left and look at the Louisville fan who gives Duke the bird not once but twice. Celebrating behind her is an excited Duke fan in a #2 jersey.
And make sure to stop at 1:29 to see the most casually arrogant pass of all last season where RJ Barrett passed back between his legs to Cam Reddish who tied the score on a long three.
But wait! Did you forget Reddish was whistled for a foul with 14.9 left and the game tied - and that the call was reversed?
It’s still incredible to watch this. Duke sure did have some fun with Kentucky-based teams last season.
