A Look At Next Year’s Duke Roster And A Provocative Question

It’s too early for that sort of thing but what the hey. Playoffs aren't enough.

Steve Wiseman takes a whack at Duke’s rotation for next year which is a bit brave this early: we still don’t know if Marques Bolden and Javin DeLaurier will be back for sure for one major variable and no one has seen the freshman as Duke players at all (By the way, Bolden we hear is working out for the Atlanta Hawks tomorrow.

Still, it’s an interesting group and one that has a major advantage over last year: there are upperclassmen who are experienced and know what to do in tight situations.

It’s way too early for this kind of argument but kick it around in your mind for now: could this team have a better chance at a national championship than last year’s?

Before you say hell no remember 2010. This team will be very different but that one started Kyle Singler, Lance Thomas, Brian Zoubek, Nolan Smith and Jon Scheyer.

If you had told anyone then that Thomas would have the best pro career people would have called you nuts.

Anyway, we’re not saying we think that necessarily but rather that it’s a provocative idea and something to argue about during the long hoopless months of summer.
