Make A Hire, Get Silly Predictions

There’s a possibility this could happen, maybe even a strong one, but who can predict anything with so many variables present?

Michigan’s hiring of Juwan Howard has at a minimum been a PR bonanza. We’ll have to find out about his coaching acumen later. We may get a good idea of his recruiting sooner depending on how things work out.

However, making book on much younger players is more than a bit speculative.

Howard hasn’t even had the job for three days and already some people are predicting that he’s bound to get LeBron James Jr. and Dwyane Wade’s son to boot.

We’re not saying it’s not possible; obviously it is. Not many coaches will have a better in than being Miami teammates with James and Wade.

But who knows? He hasn’t even coached a single game yet and it’s a major transition. Predicting what Zaire Wade will do next year, much less what any 14-year-old will do when he’s 17 or 18 - well, good luck.

You’d have an easier time predicting Howard’s college coaching record at the time.
