ACC Basketball Tournament - Second Round
CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA - MARCH 13: Head coach Mike Brey of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish looks on against the Louisville Cardinals during their game in the second round of the 2019 Men’s ACC Basketball Tournament at Spectrum Center on March 13, 2019 in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Notre Dame’s Mike Brey’s been busy.

The former Duke assistant, now running his own show with the Irish is also president of the NABC, the National Association Of Basketball Coaches, and Brey clearly has some thoughts on the state of the game.

First, on transfers - that it’s “rampant” and out of control, and they need a “deterrent”. Unlike most sports, you can take one player off a basketball team and totally wreck it, along with, potentially, the career of the coaches who brought him in.

Players should be able to move if they want to, but Brey has a point as well.

Then he has some thoughts on the cheating that’s come to light lately. Primarily he’d like to see guys pay with their jobs for the worst stuff.
