With Duke’s Zion Williamson the all-but-sure #1 pick in the NBA Draft, attention turns to Anthony Davis, who wants out of New Orleans and what that means for the Pelicans.

Here’s a well-considered run down of trade options for New Orleans starting with the Boston Celtics quite possibly including Jayson Tatum, who preceded Williams at Duke.

Boston is in a better position than anyone else and if Danny Ainge decides to go for broke - and Davis is willing to stay with the Celtics - no one else can seriously compete.

One minor quibble with this list: according to several sources, the Pelicans have zero interest in striking a deal with the Lakers.

Otherwise it’s a good reference point. People are going to try to move heaven and earth to get Davis and if more than two teams are involved don’t be surprised. Trades like this are the ones that the word blockbuster was made for.
