Johnny Dawkins’ Name Pops Up In The Michigan Search

The list is narrowing but not enough to say Dawkins is a favorite or finalist

The Michigan search is picking up steam and while some of the big names have apparently been ruled out already - Billy Donovan, Brad Stevens and Chris Beard - others have emerged.

Among them: Larry Krystkowiak of Utah, Ed Cooley of Providence, and former Duke star and assistant Johnny Dawkins, now running his own program at UCF.

These guys aren’t necessarily seen as top flight coaches right now but Larry Krystkowiak is an excellent coach, Ed Cooley has a nice deal going at Providence and Johnny Dawkins has been very solid at UCF including an absolute star turn against Duke in this year’s NCAA tournament and, for that matter, after when he defined grace in defeat.
