NCAA Basketball: Pac-12 Conference Tournament-Arizona vs USC
Mar 13, 2019; Las Vegas, NV, United States; USC Trojans guard Derryck Thornton (5) dribbles during the second half against Arizona Wildcats guard Brandon Williams (2) and guard Dylan Smith (3) in a Pac-12 conference tournament game at T-Mobile Arena.

Remember Derryck Thornton? The wispy point guard left Duke after his freshman year to go somewhere where he could find his destiny as more of a shooting point guard, with some angry comments from a relative/representative.

Well his USC career is over now and graduate Thornton finished his last season with 7.7 points and 4.3 assists. If you look at his career stats, moving to a weaker conference was probably a good idea but it didn’t help his stats much at all.

Maybe going down one more notch will let him find the role he wants.
