The college corruption trial took another dark turn for Arizona and Sean Miller as a wiretap had his former assistant, Book Richardson, telling defendant Christian Dawkins that Miller had paid $10,000 a month to Deandre Ayton.
That’s significantly different than an allegation by Dawkins or anyone else. Richardson was his right hand man from Xavier to Arizona and it’s hard to imagine him making a specific accusation like this without being able to back it up.
These are allegations and not yet proven, but on some level, whether it’s in court or to his bosses, Miller will have to answer to them. At the very least, Richardson confessed to paying Rawle Alkins and that happened under Miller’s watch.
If the NCAA finds him responsible for this, he could be suspended from coaching for a year and Arizona could be made to forfeit the entire season.
Surprisingly, the Tucson paper has just one story, linked below.
